The CJWC's Woman of the Year Award is presented to a woman who has distinguished herself through contributions to the community.
Nominees should be Cromwell citizens who are not currently serving as elected officials.

The 2012 Woman of the Year Award will be presented on February 12, 2012, to Patricia Sienna at a ceremony and tea reception at Holy Apostle's Seminary in Cromwell at 2 p.m. Below is our press release:
Patricia Sienna named Cromwell 2012 Woman of the Year
The Cromwell Junior Women’s Club is pleased to announce that Patricia Sienna has been chosen to receive the 2012 Cromwell Woman of the Year Award. The award is given to a female citizen of Cromwell who has distinguished herself through contributions to the community.
Sienna is a very dedicated person who always has the good of the community at heart. She gives of her time and talent to the fullest at the many places where she volunteers.
Hospice is one of the greatest beneficiaries of Sienna's volunteer efforts. She has been a Hospice volunteer every week for the past 27 years doing clerical work, visiting homebound patients and making bereavement calls. In addition to helping out at Hospice in many areas, Sienna is very involved in a number of capacities at St. John Catholic Church and also volunteers at the Homeless Shelter, St. Vincent de Paul, Warm the Children, the American Heart Association and the Cancer Society. A wide range of recipients have been warmed by Sienna's handmade blankets.
A public reception in Siennna's honor will be held on Sunday, February 12, at 2 p.m. Sienna will be presented with a proclamation by First Selectperson Mertie Terry and a plaque commemorating her achievement. The plaque will be hung and displayed in the Cromwell Town Hall lobby for the rest of the year.
Founded in 1965, The Cromwell Junior Women’s Club is part of the Connecticut State Junior Women’s Club. The club strives to improve the quality of its community through the efforts of a vibrant and dynamic group of women. The Club organizes service projects and fund raising events, disbursing the proceeds to local and national charities and organizations.
